PayScale Career Research Center Feedback

Welcome to our official feedback forum. Do you have an idea? Do you recognize a good idea when you see one? We want to hear from you!

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can vote and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can vote on it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. For some jobs, it is unclear whether you're specifying monthly or yearly pay.

In the US, a salary is usually specified in yearly units. In other countries (like India) salary is sometimes specified as a yearly unit, or a monthly unit. Make sure your reports are in the appropriate units (or, make sure they're clearly labeled)!

    • Convert Values to Other Currencies

GIVE US THE OPTION TO CHANGE CURRENCIES TO OUR CHOICE. CHINA 82.85 CNY MEANS NOTHING TO ME. I WANT TO KNOW THE USD EQUIVALENT. DON'T FORCE PEOPLE TO DO THERE OWN CURRENCY CONVERSIONS.

      • Check out Off-shore jobs...

Off-shore work pays 75K+ and are secure, with time off--get TWIC card, CG Physical, passport and go. Employers (UK, Deepwater Offshore, Cal Dive Intl. etc) are always looking for Riggers, Sat Divers, Crane Operators, Electricians, Electronic Technicians, and more! Sometimes you are stationed in-port doing laundry or general work on a ship or barge vessel for $2000+ a week (2-4wks on, 2wks off)--can't beat that!

            • When I look for jobs in architecture I see computer industry jobs, nothing for an actual architect

I spend the time to fill out the forms and it is clear I am an architect that designs building, you know, a real architect. When I look at the job listings for “architect” I see nothing but IT and computer industry jobs. This is a bug I think needs fixing. It also makes me wonder if any of the data and statistics provided are accurate or does pay-scale think I am an “insurance plan architect”, another of the title I see under “architect”? Give us our title back!

              • You need to state the source of your data (geo location) and how you calculated your results.

The pay scale you calculated for a Certfified Medical Biller position located my geographical area was way too low. Medical Billers/Coders with 2-3 years experience generally earn between $23.00 - $25.00 per hour .

                  • Where is the Plain Salary Range

I want a salary range for a job I'm applying, not a "customized" or "exact" report on how much I should earn. Your site is not helpfull at all for those who are searching for a job, since for an interview I should not say "I want to make THIS much!", I should say "I have done research and found out that a person in position X makes between this much and that much".

                    • A correction.

A Licensed Radiologic Technologist, Radiologic Technologist, and a Radiology Technologist are the exact same thing. I notice that on the following link: http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Certification=Registered_Technologist_in_Radiography_RT_(R_)_ARRT/Hourly_Rate It is appartent that somebody somewhere believes these are 3 seperate professions.

We do include US Military academies in our survey and results. Here are just a few examples:
                          http://www.payscale.com/research/US/School=United_States_Military_Academy_(USMA)_at_West_Point/Salary
                          http://www.payscale.com/research/US/School=United_States_Air_Force_Academy_(USAFA)/Salary

We haven’t included the Military Academies in our annual College Salary Report (http://www.payscale.com/best-colleges) because military salaries aren’t based on “market value”… and don’t mean the same thing as market-based jobs. We’ll see if we can think of some way to integrate them.

Your system tells me that after seven years of schooling, paying $150,000 for a law degree from a top school in California, working in southern California, I will make $35,000 - $50,000 as a lawyer???!!! REALLY???!!! A lawyer??? $35,000 a year is what I am making now, with an Associates Degree. LAME.
